We took the (real) train to San Juan Capistrano and visited a little petting zoo called Zoomars, a short walk from the train station. The kids didn't seem that excited by the train (they liked the station). But it was exciting for me and my mom since we got on the wrong one! Luckily all trains headed south are going the same way, so we made it anyway. Zoomars proved to be fun, very hands on, and there was a little train of course, way more fun than the real one.
Trials and tribulations of our family, with rants from Mom and pics of the family, as we navigate life with 3 kids less than two years apart!

Animals closer to home
We went to the LA Zoo, actually twice in the same week. Certainly is a shorter drive than SD, but in some ways the trips reminded me why we do that drive. But all in all they had a good time.

Baby Hippo
We went to the SD Zoo to see the baby hippo. As soon as Audrey heard it had been born she started begging to go see it. He is a little over one week old here. The whole ride down, and from the car to the gate, and past all the other exhibits on the way down to the bottom of the zoo she kept asking for the baby hippo. And she was properly awed by it. We went on Super Bowl Sunday, which was great, as there were not very many other people there to get in the way of our view.
